For sale I present our LHD 2004 Hymer B644 that has been ours since April 2010. That is sixteen years of spacious carefree holidays and touring. From cups of tea in a rural layby to three weeks at a seaside idyll. The memories are too many to contemplate.

I am a self-confessed maintenance nut and have cared for this van in a way that reflects the idea of it being ours forever. Each difficult rusty bolt or loose screw was put back by me appropriately with wax protection and torqued correctly bearing in mind that I might be having to remove it again sometime in the future or with an improved means of attachment that even Hymer had not considered. 

A 'favourite' issue with this model is rusting of the crossbar under the radiator so when it came to replacing it, with the radiator, it's seams received extra welds, the surface was prepared and had three coats of Hammerite applied and the inside was coated with free flowing Waxoyl, three times. It then had it's six mounting bolts re tightened to 60lb-ft (By the book!) and waxed. Get the picture? Now I ask you would a garage or dealer do all that?

MFM was serviced, by me, every year, whether it was needed or not, before we set off for on our, then, Spring and Autumn tours. Most of the MOTs happened in the summer months while she was at home, after Wintering in the dry atmosphere Spain offers.

You are looking at a 2.8l JTD diesel wheel spinner on a very strong Fiat chassis with an Alko extension. MFM has a very large garage with huge access doors on both sides and, in a brilliant use of space, a large, fixed, very comfortable double bed, above. She sleeps four with the drop down bed over the front seats.

Originally a German dealer's demo model for it's first six months. It had a number of gadgets added, like Aircon, an awning and reversing camera, to the basic unit to 'sell' it's appeal before being imported directly to the UK.

We bought MFM from this owner after they had added the full size refrigerator and upgraded the upholstery as part of their plan to become full time campers. 

When they decided they needed something BIGGER! we became her custodian.

The big standout for this van, after it's maintenance regime, is the storage. High-up and below floor, in the garage and under the habitation seats. The only area not exploited, somehow, is actually the boxes below the front two seats! Hymer must have thought enough is enough! But you don't have to.

She has done 127770km (79392mls) which is hardly run-in for this type of vehicle.

Temperature controlled blown heater from gas only. Three speed fan which slows as it approaches selected temperature!!

ADD-ONS:

Pioneer DAB Radio and screen with Android Auto or Carplay and the apps from your phone etc. Powered while driving or camping via a changeover switch.

Mains aircon. 240v only.

Awning with tensioning rafter.

Reversing camera.

Tracking device 

Cruise control and speed limiter. Select any speed for either or use one of your three presets, for either.

Alarm and engine immobiliser with ultrasound sensors to monitor the living space. Two active remotes. Two disarming keys.

Additional dead locks on driver's and habitation doors, high security barrels with two keys. Further spares require special authorisation!

Large refrigerator and freezer that works off 240v, gas or alternator while driving.

Satellite dish unused for last ten years. Superceded by mobile internet!

Solar panel which charges starter and habitation batteries automatically.

Two habitation batteries.

Dedicated USB charging points on passenger parcel shelf. Plus another pair in the TV cupboard. All can be used while travelling or stationary.

Two 12v sockets on dashboard. 1 DIN, 1 standard.

SOG toilet, no chemicals needed.

Interior lighting converted to LED, except one, forgetten, fitting!

Autogas externally fillable Gaslow bottles replaced tbc xxxx. x2. One bottle in use at any time, other acts as spare. Little chance of running out!

External gas point for barbecue or grill.

Towbar and seven pin connector both unused by us.

Cycle rack for four bikes, again, unused by us.

Reversing camera.

Wheel levelling ramps.

Caravan steadies x2

Digital safe.
